Annexure-1: Detailed Curriculum

Section-1: Computer Fundamentals and Office Automation Software

Duration: 60 Hours

  1. Computer Fundamentals
    • Generations, types of computers (micro, mini, mainframe, supercomputers).
    • Memory: RAM, ROM, cache, and virtual memory.
    • Processor basics, secondary storage devices (hard disks, optical storage).
    • I/O devices: printers, plotters, displays.
  2. Operating System
    • DOS: commands, file and directory system.
    • Windows: desktop icons, file management, creating folders, and shutdown process.
  3. Office Automation Software
    • MS Word: document creation, editing, formatting, and menu commands.
    • MS Excel: worksheets, formulas, formatting, charts, macros.
    • MS Access: database creation, queries, forms, relationships.
    • MS PowerPoint: slides, animations, transitions, and presentations.

Section-2: Concepts of Financial Accounting

Duration: 60 Hours

  1. Introduction to Accounting
    • Basics of accounting, financial statements, journal and ledger preparation.
    • Inventory management and tracking bills.
  2. Advanced Accounting Skills
    • Capital accounts, fixed assets, current liabilities.
    • Inventory valuation techniques: FIFO, LIFO, and average cost.
    • Depreciation and inventory record systems.

Section-3: Preparation of Account Books Using Tally

Duration: 90 Hours

  1. Tally Fundamentals
    • Setting up company data, inventory management, accounting vouchers.
    • Features like F11 (features) and F12 (configurations).
  2. Reporting and Advanced Features
    • Generating financial reports: P&L, balance sheet, trial balance.
    • Advanced Tally features: VAT, TDS, payroll accounting, and ODBC compliance.

Section-4: Desktop Publishing Software

Duration: 90 Hours

  1. PageMaker
    • Document setup, formatting text, threading text blocks, inserting pages.
    • Adding graphics, creating templates, and using styles.
    • Long documents: story editor, index creation, spell check, and printing.
  2. PhotoShop
    • Image adjustments, adding text and effects, layer effects, and filters.
    • Saving images for the web, creating animations, and galleries.
  3. CorelDRAW
    • Basics of vector design: shapes, colors, layouts, and advanced graphic tools.
